Ugly Maple

i think im done with trying to make this look good as is.
what if i cut at the red mark and use the yellow circled branch as a new leader?
i also plan to put it in a training pot for awhile but i havnt decided wether to tamper with the nembari,if there even is one!
any help, suggestions on what to do?

PS.i made it smaller on my harddrive and the site i keep my pics but no matter what i do its too big here. any help on that?

Hi Denny,
I hesitate to give much information until I could see a better photograph of your tree. Try to get one [photo] with an uncluttered background. From what I CAN see the trunk has no taper at all and the only thing that would save the 'nebari' would be a ground layer after you have done some work on the top. I will hold further comment until we can get a better photo.
There is a tutorial on this site called "Photo Resizing for Dummies". Just type in that phrase at the 'search' link at the top of the page. Good tutorial on a free site that is fairly easy to use. Good luck and I hope to hear from you soon.

Denny:

That's why I always keep a spare set in the charger

I also would like to see a bigger & more clear pix, but from what I can see at this time, this may be a candidate to layer to create new nebari altogether.

FWIW,
pootsie
