TRUE Root over rock

Well it is another beautiful 'white' day here in Vermont. We are awaiting another visit from Mother Nature with some additional winterwhite blanket. I have been looking at some of my pictures from this past fall and came on these. They were taken from both sides of the same rock. Mother nature does root over rock BIG TIME.

Please feel free to add your pictures of mother nature and her 'Bonsai Eye' or discuss these as you like.

Very nice. Isn't it amazing how much more you see in nature now, compared to before you started bonsai? I like to backpack in the Red River Gorge in Eastern Kentucky, and I swear, I never leave without having at least a dozen moments of standing there in awe, slack-jawed. Yes, indeed, there is NO ONE who can out-do the supreme bonsai master.

Rather than post individual photos here, I'll post a link to a gallery I set up on another bonsai forum with photos of natural trees. Most are from the area mentioned above, where it is actually common to see root-over-some-amazing-rocks. I'd love to bring those photos here, but there currently isn't a mechanism that would allow that. Sorry.

Here's the link: http://www.bonsaichat.org/forums/ph.../useralbums.php

Hope you enjoy!

We can only admire the work of the Master.
And as Humans attempt to Mimic the feeling of awe that comes with each turn when we see the Masterpieces laid out for us to behold.

Pines

Here are some of mother natures pines. The deadwood she create is amazing. No limesulphur added.
The pictures are taken in the mountains of Noway. We do have colour over here as well, but I like the rawness in black and white.

Absolutely breathtaking Jan, thanks for posting, better than going to a bonsai exhibit (except for meeting up with friends)

Thank you Harry. I have loads of pictures from my trips to the mountains.
Some colourshots.
I can hardly wait until spring is upon us again. As soon as the sun starts doing its thing I am on my way up there again.

I'm jealous of anyone that lives in or near mountains with breathtaking views.
I live in the flatest place on earth, but we can for long distances
