Thumbs up

Was truly the highlight of the week when Treebender and I went to San Diego for the week on business, and we couldn't thank Joanie enough for all of her help and hospitality. Thanks again Joanie.

Gary was awesome... very friendly and helpful. He just stayed out of our way and let us roam, unless we had a question, and the tree's... I would probably be broke if I lived close to Chikugo-En. I purchased a nice Kishu myself, and cannot wait to pot it up in the spring(If I find a pot worthy).

You definately have to make it a point to visit when in southern California.

Well, I arrived in LA today armed with a list of three bonsai nurseries to try, and it looks like I was extremely lucky that Gary at Chikugo-en was the first to answer the phone.

I stayed for a couple of hours and wish I could have stayed for a couple more, but I had been tempted out of enough money already. Two beautiful shohin pots and a large oval pot came with me, and I will be having one of their fine Shimapku junipers delivered to me, after I finally managed to select just one out of the dozens available.

Gary and the ladies I assumed (possibly mistakenly) to be his mother and his daughter all were extremely helpful, and I certainly will be visiting any other time I happen to be in LA.

Thanks to everyone on BonsaiTalk for sending me in their direction.

Best wishes,

Chris
