Tree ID please

does anyone know what kind of tree this is? this tree grows all over here in wisconsin and i haven't been able to get an ID for it. whatever it is, is it good for bonsai? also, when can these be collected, it's normally early spring, right?

This looks a lot like the tree in this post - http://forum.bonsaitalk.com/showthread.php?t=6419

I believe that the consensus is that it is some type of elm...but I'm not completely sure.

that's awesome breefe, i've reading about siberian elms and everyone has said that they are a waste of time because of branch dieback. what club do you belong to breefe, i just joined MBS (Milwaukee)? early spring would be a good time to collect some of these guys right?
