Training Box Vs.planting In The Ground

we've had quite an unusual cooling trend and it's brought to mind fall planting.

For those trees that are best ground planted in fall, would it be safe to assume that spreading the roots for nebari training, and planting in a training box is also done this same time of year?

Yes you can do that (play with the roots) if the leaves have fallen.

Matt

In zone 9 it shouldn't be a problem. Growers in zones where they get hard freezes should wait til early spring.
