I usually place a rock or something under the pot at one side so the tree tilts one way. Then all the excess water pours off. I belive this is the techinique the Japanese use.

If u dont want the soil to wash off put a layer or crushed rock or ion stone or somthing that looks good.Even a layer of moss if u can find some..

I use to have this problem when I firsted started bonsai. Even when watering the soil would wash away. I found out that my problem was the soil was too fine and wouldn't even let the water through to the bottom of the pot. I lost trees this way. So once I started using a very open mix I never have worried about soil washing away or my bonsai being too wet. A very well draining open soil mix is the long term solution to a lot of rain.
