Question Time to UN-Winterize my trees?

Temperature have finally started to get into the 50s (F) around here and we've gone a few days without dropping below freezing, so I've taken my trees out of their cold frame (a 2' x 4' wooden box with a clear plastic lid) and let them soak up some sun. However, since it probably will be dropping below freezing every now and then over the next few weeks, I'm wondering if it's safe to:

A. put the cold frame away for the season (or keep re-covering my trees any night it's supposed to drop below freezing)

B. prune/repot my trees (all are nursery stock that are still in their original plastic pots)

C. plant a few in the ground to grow out

D. start collecting trees

Kompik....patience patience patience. It may still be early to do the two step...bringing trees in and taking them back out, yet. You need to know that it will mostly reamain suitable temps before you do this. Of course if you only have two or three trees go for it.

Why not just let nature take its course and let the trees wake up naturally.
There is still cold temps coming in your area as well as in Mich. where I live.
It is far too early to bring them out. If the buds start to open and you get a frost it could kill them off.

Wait until the end of April at least.

It really depends on the number and species of trees you have. Maples, I leave protected and out of the sun as long as possible. They are quick to wake up and quick to winter kill if the weather falls once the sap rises. Pines and junipers shouldn't make a difference.

Thanks for the advice guys! I had a feeling I was jumping the gun a bit. =)

BTW, all of my trees are conifers (Junipers, False Cypress, Cedar).

You could bring out the Junipers, but leave the others where they are.
