Syzygium as bonsai?!

Anyone, probably Australian- tried to bonsai this plant? I have a "Bush Christmas" (nursery stock) and want to have a go so want any advice available!

Im from Sydney, I have not seen nor aware of any creations made from Christmas Bush, but thinking about it, It (if it worked) would make a beautiful Bonsai. But the many many branches would make it difficult to train?

No- I'm strictly a ficus woman! Actually, I've been sticking to the 'easy' beginner's stuff like that and serissa, and japanese box. I saw this syzygium and couldn't help but think it looked like a good bonsai candidate (all 7" of it!). It does have quite a few branches but less than the serissa and the branches are all rather more pliable than the box. Also, the root system was more like a ficus than a serissa (which was an alarming mass of fine fibres!) Anyway, I did some basic pruning and have transferred it from the nursery pot into a shallow grow box and will see what happens.
