Superthrive

I'm interested on different views on the use and success of Superthrive.
Has anyone had increased rate of success with cuttings when using Superthrive ?

Has anyone tried Vitimin B1 tablet dissolved in water instead, and if so at what rate and success ?

Re: Superthrive

hi ya frank

superthrive is a great product but i'd also use a rooting hormone for cuttings - i liquid one i find works better than the powder ones....

superthrive works well when transplanting trees and for stressed trees...i find anyway...

as for the b1 tablet - do your trees have PMT? (jokes) lol

no really never heard of that!

Re: Superthrive

Hey Frank,
Superthrive is a great addition to any fertilizer program. I use superthrive everytime I water along with my normal fertilizers. My trees are growing like crazy. Superthrive is not a fertilizer itself, just too clear that up.

Re: Superthrive

Superthrive is the best thing you can add to any Bonsai, or for that matter, any growing plant!
They love it

Re: Superthrive

I use superthrive as an elephant repellent.

I pour it on my back deck once a week, and it works wonders!

I haven't had a single elephant in my yard since I moved up here to Seattle.

Re: Superthrive

Superthrive has Vitamin B in it along with IBA, the same stuff you use to root cuttings, only in a much diluted form. If your going to root cuttings or do air layering your better off getting a 3 pack of Hormex rooting powders. The 3 pack comes in 3 flavors so you can root anything from a Chinese Elm to a 2x4.

Re: Superthrive

"Root a two-by-four"

Nice expression - reminds me of a friend of mine who has a way with getting things to root - he could take six-inch-diameter "cuttings" and get them to take off. We used to joke that he'd steal sticks from the neighborhood dogs and root them too.
