Out of almost 200 views the best guess is a shrub of some sort? i don't want to offend anyone, but that's pretty weak.

Cord

Forsythia, Zelkova and elm are out of the running

LOL

True, but that said - Its like Millionaire. If you don't know the answer, you can only make an educated guess. I think the moral of the story though is to ask as/before you buy.

All the best,

Aaron

heyCordon; Atomic jokes aside, my forsythia has oval shaped, opposing, medium green leaves that are serrated on the outer 80% of the margins (the serrations don't appear directly next to the petiole/stem but start a short distance away. The bark is light tan in color. If pruned back hard they put out rapid-growing water sprouts which don't set flower buds as readily as the normal growth branches. If the other plant is different it might be the one that is mislabeled. Maybe you should post a picture of the other plant.

all in good fun

Thanks,

Well anyway thanks for your input. I guess it doesn't really matter what it is as long as I'm having fn playing with it. This is the third year I've had it and it hasn't yet put out any flowers. The forsythia i bought along with it has sinc died due to overzealous newbeism.

Cord
Moral of story, don't buy a tree while it's dormant.
