Sorry, Stupid Question
I can't for the life of me figure out where to upload an avatar. I go into Edit Avatar but only get the flags. Do you have to be a certain kind of member to be able to upload them or am I just not seeing it?
Either way, thanks for replying and sorry for the newbie question.

This used to be available at 50 posts, but I just successfully loaded one without reaching 50 posts.
Matt, has this changed? |

Does it maybe have to do with contributing?

I'm pretty sure that this is a function of how many posts you have made. Try again after 50 or so. |

Yes, it's very important that you post something about bonsai...
hmm .. that puts me at 46 I think ..... But back to bonsai, muirgen, I swera that tree you have is a chinese elm and not a holly or banksi. Banksia is an australian native, while chinese elm is used a LOT for bonsai in the US. The chances of you having a banksia are far less ... Try taking a close-up photo by putting your tree up on a table and using the "macro" function, but make sure that any background is very far away. Then take a picture showing the whole tree in focus. i swear its an elm --- attached is a picture of a cork-bark elm, hope you can see the leaves pootsie |

Shall we have a contest just for fun? Maybe winners can get an extra reputation point to spend? I vote Caitlin elm.

Nope I won't post for count.. I've been in forums where people did that and it annoyed me a lot. No worries.
Thanks for the suggestions on the tree type, but either way it doesn't matter because I think its dead. I think it was dead when I got it. Its pretty crispy, and it just took me too long to see that. Ah well. Thanks for the replies anyway.
