Oops! Sorry, Stupid Question

I can't for the life of me figure out where to upload an avatar. I go into Edit Avatar but only get the flags. Do you have to be a certain kind of member to be able to upload them or am I just not seeing it?

Either way, thanks for replying and sorry for the newbie question.

This used to be available at 50 posts, but I just successfully loaded one without reaching 50 posts.

Matt, has this changed?

Does it maybe have to do with contributing?

I'm pretty sure that this is a function of how many posts you have made.

Try again after 50 or so.

Yes, it's very important that you post something about bonsai...

hmm .. that puts me at 46 I think .....

But back to bonsai, muirgen, I swera that tree you have is a chinese elm and not a holly or banksi. Banksia is an australian native, while chinese elm is used a LOT for bonsai in the US. The chances of you having a banksia are far less ... Try taking a close-up photo by putting your tree up on a table and using the "macro" function, but make sure that any background is very far away. Then take a picture showing the whole tree in focus.

i swear its an elm --- attached is a picture of a cork-bark elm, hope you can see the leaves

Shall we have a contest just for fun? Maybe winners can get an extra reputation point to spend? I vote Caitlin elm.

Nope I won't post for count.. I've been in forums where people did that and it annoyed me a lot. No worries.

Thanks for the suggestions on the tree type, but either way it doesn't matter because I think its dead. I think it was dead when I got it. Its pretty crispy, and it just took me too long to see that. Ah well. Thanks for the replies anyway.
