lol. seems that the african styles are very popular. Here's inspiration coming:
http://www.pretoriabonsaikai.org/ht...can_styles.html the windswept looks gr8, but it's kinda simple. Check out the african styles. Tell me which one of those you like best. i will post a virtual of your tree this sunday.

well, first flower opened today but then when I came home later i noticed a lot of leaves dropped and that bottom branch mostly withered. The soil had dried a bit so i transferred it to the bathroom and watered it. Hopefully the increased humidity will help. Also being above a radiator didnt help I reckon! It needs out of that pot!

Hi there,
Talking african styles, here's a pic of an accacia growing in the Drakensberg Mountains, South Africa. I used to see this tree everyday for 4 years! After I moved away, I really started to miss it, I would go and see it once a year, and finally this last January, I went and photographed it. It's actually the most perfect umbrella style I have even seen in the wild. This particular tree is a protected specimen. It's trunk will not fit into the arms of a REALLY big grown man, and it's branches span out (2 main ones) for about 7 or 8 meters. Hope you enjoy it, this tree is why I bonsai, and I used to have one in miniature, such fun! Dane |

i tried to do a virtual but i ended up with discobassonist photo. Both his acacia and the african styles can be used in your design. If i were you i would go for his acacia....

I took the tree indoors and gave it a trim with the baby scissors, then decided it was time to finally repot it. I didnt restyle it as yet, I want it to settle first and see how it goes. Besides, it hardly had any roots to speak of yet was wedged in the pot by a thick root that went round the rootball. I teased it out and trimmed it. Then i reoriented it so that the solitary branch was coming from the side not the back, and put it back in with fresh compo(jonn innes #2 with vermiculite, and a used tea bag covering the drainage hole)
Just hope it doesnt die a death on me now!

Larry , Try to leave it alone for a while. Serrisas don't like to be moved around a bunch. You repotted it, just let it grow for a while before you do anything else. Ken
