I have a Satsuki Azalea and some of the leaves have been turning yellow and the tips are brown. Eventually the entire leaf turns brown and falls off. There is also pleanty of dark green and light green leaves, but I was sure if something has changed or if this is normal winter time leaf drop, or dormant time.

It's quite normal for my azaleas over here to discolour and shed. If there is a sudden cold snap the trees look a lovely mix of red, yellow, green and brown but most years they just look tatty.
Hardiness seems to vary by variety also. Some remain green throughout our winters while others look pretty sorry for themselves. But they soon bounce back in the Spring - and that's not too far away now! Happy New Year!
