Robert is also going to be one of the featured speakers at the annual MidAtlantic Bonsai societies symposium in mid, northern New Jersey on April 19-21 weekend. This symposium is always excellent and a good bang-for-the-buck.

Just read through his book Visions of the Soul, it was very interesting.

He concentrates on the artistry of bonsai and tries to emphasize a different way to look at trees based on more of a an artists approach versus a science or rules type approach.

If I had to list my bonsai heroes, Robert would be right up there at the top of the list.
Have fun you guys.
If you can, take plenty of pictures, and share 'em with us.

One of the international masters at the AABC converence at surfers.
I was stunned by his talks and demos. I even walked away with a signed copy of his book 'Visions of my Soul'. You are in for a treat pup

Orderme3 - You might want to consider joining a local bonsai club. Besides all the help you will get, you will also be kept aware of forthcoming conventions, events etc in both your local area and interstate. That way you are less likely to miss any of the local or visiting masters.

Dale

I hope you are not as disappointed as most of us were. He is different and he does not stop telling you so.
Most of the text books !!! are wrong the rules are all wrong. Ah !!!! He took 2 hours to do a critique of a single tree. So the rest of the people who had trees did not get there's done. The work shop was a bit better.
The Public Demonstration was a repeat of Sat morning for 1 hour. Then he proceeded to work on a large Juniperus procumbens. I will post pics.
