I take it that's a good thing round your way? I thought a geezer was something that erupts periodically without warning, leaving everyone else running for cover from the fallout?

Tsk, tsk! That's a geyser, not a geezer, Matt. A geezer is a London slang version of an Australian bloke or a North American guy - it's a bit old fashioned these days.
Hope this helps to set your mind at rest ) |

Just to clear up the point Geezer is generally precieded by the word Old as in old geezer, unless Matt is near sixty I don't think that he qualifies as a geezer.
Some how I just can't stay away.

American geezers need a cane or a whittlin' knife at least, and it helps to be retired and either annoyingly chatty or disturbingly silent. A gnarled or wizened appearance is mandatory.
The guy in the painting, "American Gothic" is kind of the proverbial American Geezer ![]() Our American dictionary, Webster's, has the geezer as "an (eccentric) old man." Regards, Matt
