Thumbs up Really Need Identification...please

G'day all,

Here's a better picture of the tree that I now need to be identified, it's height is 21cm [8 1/4"] including pot, does someone think that it might be a buxus?

Yes, it looks like boxwood.

Thumbs up

G'day TreeBay,

And here am I thinking that there's no way you can get a boxwood in my neighbourhood.

OK, two questions, zone 10, can I grow it indoors?
And do you know the botanical name?

Ozzerbon, one way to identify buxus sempervirens is by the smell... not to put too fine a point on it, if the tree stinks of cat pi$$ it's a box.

Buxus sempervirens = common box (english box?)

Regards,

TB

Thumbs up

G'day TreeBeard,

Nope no smell of any kind that I can detect, been searching about and am coming to the conclusion that it is probably Buxus microphylla - 'Compacta'. You'll see in my gallery a very small Buxus, the leaves of this tree are half the size if not smaller than that one.

Taking into consideration that it came in this small job-lot from somewhere in Germany, happens quite a lot over here in our G.centers.

I think that I ended up buying the whole 'lot' of a real nice collection of very small trees.

Thanks for your input.
