Hi Guys,
Anyone know or recognize this tree and know where I can find any info' about it, did a Google search and found nothing? I found the tree in this site: http://www.bonsai-bsf.com/bsf2003/bsf2003.htm The leaves appear to my poor old eyes to be deeply lobed? Greetings....Nigel http://www.bonsai-bsf.com/bsf2003/pyrocamels.jpg

When I first saw the subject of this thread, exploding cigarettes came to mind.
I have never heard or seen of this tree. It looks rather interesting though.

hey ozzerbon; The plant being referred to might be Pyracomeles vilmorinii. This is a inter-genera cross reportedly between Pyracantha and Osteomeles. They should be available from forestfarm.com (I have only seen them as 2-inch plants in nurseries). I had two of them (one appears to be dying in a manner similar pyracantha (fireblight?), the other is thriving. It grows moderately fast, and has no thorns. Definitely worth a try if you can find them.

G'day heymikey,
Sounds like it to me, just did a Google search and learned a bit more. do you have a pic of your plants? A friend in the States can order for me if I can find a reasonable pic to send over to him, so would very much appreciate it if you could oblige with a pic? Also is yours a weeper, as is the one in the pic that I attached? Nigel

Two photos are posted. One is of the plant, styled as a cascade, and a detail of the leaf.
Hope this helps. Jerry

I would check out two Fla. Nurseries:
Jupiter Bonsai in Jupiter and Dura STone In Vero Beach. AS I recall, one of them had something to do with the developement of the tree. |

Thank you Jerry,
Two pics, just right, the leaf detail clears that point up, not lobed at all, but made up of a group of 5 to 7 leaflets, even more interesting. Have you produced one of your excellent care sheets for this tree? How long have you had your tree? Evergreen I presume and has yours flowered? Nigel
