I think the tree is fine but the pot is too large. (I know, I know, I'm a smart---)

Wow, that thing is like 4 feet across, right, Ron?

Some people think size is everything!

So does Ken Huth at http://www.bigbonsaipots.com

I know the proper expression is "over the top" ... but we finally got one "over the bottom" ... the whole bottom. Good one LOL

Well I do have a river birch that is a bit bigger.;o) Guess I could put that in the pot this spring.
It is a bit closer to the right size.
I still like that little juniper though. It wouldn't take all that long to grow out. Few decades. I do plan on being around that long (at least)

heyRon; I feel your priorities are a slight bit misplaced, there is nothing wrong with the pot or the primary tree you have selected. The main problem is all the other trees in the forest-they are too "industrial" looking and all the same size. My attached sketch shows how a more varied selection of background trees would greatly improve the composition. I think if you would have spent a few more hours on this project it would look more like my sketch. Regards, heyMikey!!
