please help with sick japanese maple

wife and i redid our front garden this early spring, the main focal point was a purple japaese maple tree, i think it was called a bloodgood or something like that. Anyway, it did good for about a month or so, then it started turning green and some spots on it and now its looking pretty ugly... it hasnt dide, not one leave has fallen off...

im just not sure if its the hot heat (been upper 90s-100s all summer long here in Texas) or if it has bugs or some kind of disease or what... but i spent a pretty penny on this tree and would like to save it... any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!

here is a picture of a few of the leaves I picked off and took snap shot of

So you guys just planted this tree, right?

Japanese maples can get a little burned in the sun, especially if the roots aren't established. 90-100 degrees in texas can be tough on a newly transplanted maple, so that is probably what your deal is here.

It's not fatal, just ugly. Be sure it gets enough water (but don't drwon it).

well i dont remember exactly, but i think we planted it in May/June and its now September... so been a few months. This summer has been real hot one with little rain. I have a sprinkler system and I water 2-3 times a week for about 10 mins for the plant area.... should I water longer or more often or anything? the whole tree isnt even purple anymore and just looks ugly like you said....

Sounds like enough water. It should be stronger next year, with more established roots. For now, just enjoy your ugly plant!

well thats a cute little small one, mine is huge its about 7ft tall. I guess it is the sun here in Texas that will do it, maybe I should turn on the sprinkler to come on a few times throughout the day to mist it and cool it off?
