Seedling Please help ID this tree

I picked up this pretty little thing on a whim because the flowers called out to me. I also like the pot . The problem is I have no idea what it is, there was no tag and when I asked at the nursery the person that could tell me was not there. I've been back since and they no longer have the same tree so since I didn't have a picture with me I couldn't ask again. I hope that someone here will know what this is.
Also any future styling suggestions are welcome

The tree is about 7" or 8" from the rim of the pot. The first picture is a close up and the second is the whole tree (sorry the lighting is very good).

Any help you can pass along would be great!

Thanks,
JP

Hi jportock,

Well from what I can see it looks like a variegated serissa foetida of the Mt. Fuji variety. I think this is so because I have one of these myself.

They can be kinda tricky. Make sure it is in good draining soil mix and do not over water or let it go completely dry. They are very finicky about this.

Hope that helps and if someone else proves me wrong, then they probably know more than me!

serissa foetida, and the cultivar looks to be the so called 'mt. fuji.' i know this because i have what appears to be the same cultivar. while serissa's have a reputation for being difficult to care for properly, from personal experience i haven't had too much more trouble keeping this one happy than any other tropical plant. i think this cultivar is tougher than others. enjoy.

toby

edit: musashi, you beat me by like two seconds, and we said almost exactly the same freaking thing. i find this amusing for some reason. har.

It is a variegated white blossom Serrisa Foetida. In English a varient of the Snow Rose. In Chinese it is the Tree of One Thousand Stars. Originally from South China, is one of five varients I am familiar with. Yours has a large single white blossom and variegated leaves. It is a sub tropical, and needs dormancy, you should keep it outside as much as possible.

Thank you all, so much!

I gotta stop with these impulse buys. I really should know what I'm buying before I do it

Thanks again,
JP
