Please feed the Wiki!
This forum supports a FAQ with an insatiable appetite. It's called a WIKI. If you haven't visited before, you can reach it by clicking on the word WIKI in the navigation bar up top, or by clicking on any bonsai related word in any post on the forum. If you have been looking for a non-monetary way of contributing to the forum, this is it!
We're up to close to a thousand pages of bonsai-related information. Some regular contributors have been hammering away in there, but a Wiki is a funny thing. The more you feed it, the hungrier it gets! FEEDING THE WIKI 1. The wiki's most wanted pages are here http://wiki.bonsaitalk.com/index.ph...ial:Wantedpages 2. Places we can use help US Bonsai Nurseries (follow the red links) http://wiki.bonsaitalk.com/index.ph...onsai_Nurseries US Bonsai Clubs (follow the red links) http://wiki.bonsaitalk.com/index.ph..._Clubs_by_State International Bonsai Clubs (hardly even begun) http://wiki.bonsaitalk.com/index.ph...lubs_by_Country Bonsai Teachers and writers (follow the red links) http://wiki.bonsaitalk.com/index.php/Bonsai_teacher 3. Any other nonexistent pages you encounter It's really simple to create a wiki page. Whenever you see a red link in the wiki, it points to a page that doesn't exist yet. If you click on that link, it will take you to the editor where you can create a page. CREATING AN ACCOUNT It's not necessary to have a wiki account to edit the wiki. It can be handy if you do a lot of editing you might want to track your changes, you can sign up http://wiki.bonsaitalk.com/index.php?title=Special:Userlogin EDITING IN THE WIKI 1. Contributions need to be original material, or attributed resources that are in the public domain. 2. When you want to link to another term, you just surround it with a pair of double brackets [[like this]] that will automatically create a wiki link, even if the word or phrase doesn't exist yet. 3. Other formatting is relatively simple. =heading= ==subheading== ===sub-subheading=== ''italics'' '''bold''' 4. You can use the upload pictures link at left to upload pictures. They get thumbnailed automatically to a size appropriate for inclusion. Photos need to be your own though, or taken from this website and credited to the user who posted them. Any questions or comments are welcome! Regards, Matt

Is there a way to police dead links? I noticed a link for Kenji Miyata that pointed to bonsai today online, which no longer is a valid link.

If this is like Wikipedia, anyone can edit any entry.
