Playing With Wood

4 years ago an old Ceder was cut down in front of my house,
kept some lumber, had the idea that i would use it for something one of these days.
# years ago i had the idea to use a smaller peace of the trunk for a tanuki, nevet got too finish that one.
Then one and a half month ago i got some problems in myleft knee,i was operated 3 weeks ago.
You can imagne the sea of time i got at the moment......
having plenty of time with the tree's that's great, then refound the ceder tree,,,,,,,,,,,

This could make a nice bonsai-stand.

Well done Gajin...I really have a fondness for these carved stands...It is a lot of work, but I think it is worth the effort...

I am working on a stand myself from 'Texas Mountain Cedar'...I was in need of a stand for a recently styled cascade, and had a unique piece of 'Ash Juniper' which had a secondary trunk growing from the center of the main trunk...I will post pictures of both when finished...

Thanks for sharing photos of your work...Hope the knee mends quickly for you...best of luck with the recovery...

Regards
Behr

those look great!!! i especially like the slab, it has a unique color and natural design that couldn't be reproduced. i too had a bad knee injury several months ago and know fully the pains of having TOO MUCH time on your hands, seems you, as i, have channeled that extra time towards your bonsai hobby (i made a display table and a slab as well). hope the knee heals quickly, keep up the great work.
