Platycladus Rheingold?
Found a very intersting little shrub at the garden centre today, nice bulky trunk and plenty of character, the tag only said platycladus Rheingold. looks thujaish to me or cedarish, we dont get many of these things in my parts so i bought the little fella.
Now anyone have any pics of these guys as bonsai? Anyone have any advice on how to grow em? i cant find any info at all and just need a shove in the right direction:-) |

Hi Andy
Platycladus is the correct name for Thuja orientalis so it should work the same as the thuyas used here in Canada . I had a very nice one grown by the late Becky Lucas back in SA but unfortunately have no pic of it. Gail of Bishopsford has or had a very nice one in a formal form. Cheers |
