Pix of the potted Baccharis
Well, ole Wile E. Coyotebush is back in a pot. Don't know if it can be considered "bonsai" due to size of pot, but it had far too many roots to cut back to make it go in a smaller pot.
Right now it is sort of shabby looking as I trimmed out about 832 metric tonnes of ...TANGLE. It will need some growth before I can decide exactly what to do with it. Someone mentioned a good idea of making it "weep." I don't know if it can be directed much as the strings are so rubbery and inclined to go ...UP. I did trim out the strings headed upwards but don't know if it can be tamed once the growth starts doing what it wants to. But that TRUNK. Just fascinates me. So it's back in captivity again. |

Actually if you want to make a weeping tree you want to keep the upward growth. If you look at most weeping trees in nature the branches do grow straight up, then when they get long and top heavy the branch droops. They usually go up from the trunk before "weeping". You want to take the upward growth and wire it down into graceful arches. FYI...
Here are my current attempts. A young weeping willow and a threadbranch cypress. Newt
