bonsaiTALK Hint: Did you know you can double click any bonsai term on this page for its definition?

pemphis

When looking at photos of South Eastern Asian Bonsai shows there are some awesome pemphis bonsai. At the risk of revealing my ignorance, is this tree used in Bonsai anywhere else?

I was kind of wondering that too,...especially when veiwing the yamadori pemphis acidula that Robert Steven works into very stunning bonsai and penjing.

I agree, Zen. Of course, the point of this post is that I want one!

I've seen one of our native species within the same Pemphis family which are used as bonsai in south Texas. I believe the name here is Hackberry but I could be wrong.

Wrong...Hackberry is Celtis sp. and not Pemphis. So, to answer your question, no I don't know of anyone who works with Pemphis....
