"It is your type of mindset and perverted priority shifts that encourages people to think that it is ok to murder a perfectly healthy child in its mother right before it is birthed and cut up its lifeless body for stem cell research..."

It's time for Matt to get out the banning threat again. This is more than stupid it is downright outrageous. It has no place on this forum: both the content and the put down. This is an outright attack on a person and should not be allowed.

Getting back on track,
I'm still wondering why NBG did this. I was hoping BartThomas or someone from VA beach or Norfolk could shed some light as to why the tree was removed. There was open fields on the left, right and in front of where the tree stood. So why would they have had reason to rip it out for a playground?

Making it Personal?

Harold,

Your post and accusations are way out of line here. LivingArt has every right to express his sorrow over the loss of a tree and frustration over the cause if he wants, and if you want to promote playgrounds over individual plants, that's your prerogative, too. However, it's completely unnecessary to turn this into a personal attack against a forum member, particularly one tainted with such horrific imagery and defamation.

If you want to remain an active member of this forum, please pick up on this clue: I agree that LivingArt is deserving of your apology.

Regards,

Matt

You obviously don't have children. If you do, you have never really appreciated them.

Best way to find out is to contact them directly. I went to their web site and got this address for you
myra.wood@nbgs.org

I have no idea why they removed it but it could have something to do with the pine borer infestation on the east coast.
I would imagine that there would be a good reason and that they would share this reason with you when asked nicely.

I will apologize.

And I do. I am going to explain what I saw and heard.

I am going to explain what I saw and heard.

I am a person who looks at the bottom line, and when I read and saw that post, it said to me that he preferred the sake over a tree, rather than the sake of a child.

My son was a miracle and a huge answer to a long prayer. I choose to see every child and their happiness more important than the safety of a tree.

If it was meant as a joke, a smilie would have helped....

I will stop here and not take it any further.

Again my deepest apologies to Living Art, Matt and this forum.

Respectfully,
Harold Bacos

Just so everyone is clear here. We are in a bonsai forum here. Yes, trees are more important than children.

Even if you disagree with my sarcasm and it offends you greatly, take it to the fanatics with illconceived veiws forum.

This has to be the most sensible thing I have ever seen on the internet.

Losing the beautiful Japanese Red Pine was probably the worst loss since I have been at the garden. It was actually removed before the hurricane due to pine bark borers. The black pines across the road succumbed to these insects first and despite our best attempts to keep the red pine sprayed it too
was attacked and killed.

We would never have removed a specimen like that for the Children's Garden, instead it would have been incorporated as part of the fun and learning in this garden. I appreciate your interest, it is always nice to know that people are aware of the changes, for good or bad, that are happening in the garden.

I don't need explanations, frankly. There is no justifiable reason for attacking a member of this forum on this personal level. *That* is the bottom line.

I'm glad you are appreciative of your child, but here we are respectful of others, too.

I'm glad LivingArt got the info he requested with the help of another member. This is a good time to close this thread.

Regards,

Matt
