Ophelia - good luck east coast
Given the US' recent experience with hurricanes, rest assured that the rest of the country is watching the Carolinas and east coast as Ophelia approaches.
Good luck, y'all! Lash down the bonsai and hold tight! pootsie |

This one's not very scary, especially after the mess in N.O. We can use the rain here in Va. We sat through Hurricane Isabel last year at about this same time. She did some damage, but this one's alot weaker than her.

Hi Pootsie
So far the power is out in parts of NC and 9" have drentched the area.. here in Va only windy conditions and much welcomed rain forecasted .. had two close calls since I've been in Va Beach and weathered Andrew in Homestead .. so.. well versed but I still don't enjoy the process. I had more damage two years ago with Isabel than Andrew, so go figure. Bring in the trees, batten down the hatches, and ride the waves...

10-day forecast for upstate SC shows 1 day with a chance of rain. I just wish it'd make up its mind. Its sitting on the coastline washing away the coast. We could use some of the rain up this way.
Hugo and Andrew veteran (+ several last year that managed to brush this way), Wayne F.

Hah!
Ophelia isn't scaring us here much, it might just dump some rain on us which we actually really need right now. Imagine the horrible irony if this was the named storm that hit Louisiana, considering that Ophelia's namesake in Hamlet killed herself by drowning. Just a thought. Anyway, thanks for the thought pootsie. All the best, JDL |
