Open Chat On The Forum
How about making the chat room a weekly thing on Sat's. at 6:00 PM pacific time.

Anyone game to this idea? Do we need a different day, would a weekday be better?

There is a nascar chat that comes out weekly that is not open to the public, but you can see it being typed. The results of the chat are filed and archived for looking at later.

There is a moderator of the chat and it is conducted as a sort of interview. Sort of like the way that Andy used to profile guests on the Bonsai Enthusiast.

The moderator throws the questions out there and watches the jabber. As soon as the group begins to wander off, they throw out the next topic. Sort of cool to watch.

We could pick a moderator for the first one, and then elect the moderator for the next week before we quit for the night.

I just tried the chatroom feature last week and there was no one there to talk to. This might be a good way to get people to use it!

I like this idea too!

I have had a couple conflicts with the past couple Saturdays, but:

1) I loaded the August dates on the Calendar, together with some links that you can click on to find out what time the chat will be in your own state or country.

2) The homepage at http://www.bonsaitalk.com will list the days, hours and minutes until the next scheduled chat

3) Note - we've changed this next chat time to Saturday 10:00 PM pacific, and will be trying out some different times in the future, knowing it's impossible to accomodate everyone who would like to participate with a single time.

6PM is tough for me. I would be happy to move at least one to 10PM Pacific if 8AM Jerusalem will work for you?

Me I would love to join in but I type very slowly with two fingers. ( one finger if I am drinking a beer. ) By the time I got something typed it would be the next day and you all would have already gone onto something else.
But I will keep an every on the chat room just in case there is a question that I can answer with a quick yes or no ;o)
