Not sayin you're wrong, as i have never done any research on the topic, and only seeds from one tree germinated, but i can garuntee that the seedsthat fell this year germinated. I recently discovered some small maple seedlings growing in my pots that i replanted early this spring. Im not sure how unusual this is. I do, however, have an aternative explanation. We had about a week long cold snap after some of the early seeds fell. Maybe this explains the germination? I don't know.
Just a thought, Tom |

Don't get me wrong, I am just a newbie, I only go by what I read in books, articles, and these threads. I have virtually zero real-life exoerience as I have only stumbled upon bonsai in the last 3 or 4 months. If you say you're sure they are this year's seeds, then perhaps they are.
![]() Can you post a pick of their leaves to satisfy a noob's curiosity? |

No offence intended or taken. Im a newbie myself, first year in bonsai. Take it from one new member to annother, dont be afraid to ask questions or put your opinions out here. The people here are great and always willing to let you know what they think.
