Oh Joy Of Joys

Did you ever have one of those days when everything seemed to be going you way? One of those peachy-keen days when the world seems to love you?

Well, this is not what the day had in store for me. The vulture setting in the back yard this morning should have given me a clue!

About noon my wife called me at the shop and said that there was water all over the place at the house. She seemed a bit panicky so I rushed home. Seems one of the pipes in the new lawn sprinkler system decided it was time to spring a leak. Looked pretty cool, a pretty fountain in my yard! She was right though it was pretty wet. I shut off the supply line and called the lawn guy.

But all the excitement got the water heater to thinking "I haven't messed with old Ron lately," so it decided to blow up. Now, both the inside and outside of the house are wet.

Plumber and sprinkler man are now hard at work. One of them is looking to buy a new Mercedes and the other wants to send his kid to colleague so both are happy.

Me, I need a drink ;o( But the day is not a total loss. I just got an e mail from ABS. Seems that one of my silly articles will be in the coming issue.

Gosh that means that I can have two drinks! I was thinking about drinking them in the back yard. Do something with my trees. But seems like we are under a weather warning. The heat index is supposed to be 110 outside right now. Actual temperature is 95. No outside for this old man. Not as long as the air-conditioning is working !!!

My trees look a bit droopy but there isn't too much I can do. The water is off for the repairs. I do really like my trees, but I refuse to share my beer with them. They can do without for a couple of hours.

Ron

Gee Ron, sorry to hear all the bad news. It's like my sainted grandmother used to tell me, "Life's a bitch and then you die".

Hope tomorrow has better things in store for you.

Its not much. Just a thing on Shimpaku junipers. No big deal.
It might have been one of those things I have posted here before, not sure about that but maybe.

Seems like lady luck is still with me.
On the way to the bank ( to make the checks good for the house repairs) one of my tires went flat. Didn't turn out too bad though. It only cost twenty bucks to get that fixed.
I do think that I am being tested. God is up there chuckling at me. I am trying to be good and take all this in stride.
The water is back on and the trees have been watered. They are happy.
Me I am getting happy. I found this neat bottle of whiskey and we are becoming fast friends.

Things are back to normal again. Nothing has broke for a while at least. Maybe that cloud of doom has moved on ;o)

Big Smile

Ron:
Look on the bright side..... we are all consumers and by you paying for your repairs, you are helping the Economy.

On the other hand, when you are my age and spend the golden years at the offices of different doctors, you will have nothing to show for it, but a body that is wearing out and can't be replaced.

BTW the Golden years is not for us senior citizens - the ones collecting the gold are the Doctors, the druggist and the Insurance companies we keep in business.

On the brighter side, I can still manage to get out to my trees and enjoy watching life around me!
