not many bids on the next heymikey auctions

The next batch of trees closes on monday, and there are not many bids. Have I set the opening bids too high? It's for a good cause - throw some bids in there!!

The next batch will open on Monday. This set includes a big J. maple, rosemary, spruce, mugo, liquidamber and what I think is a natal plum (carissa macrocarpa).

The following week will start the pot sales.

Bob,

I can't help with bidding on the trees - export/import restrictions and all that.
But I will certainly consider some pots when they come along!

Thanks for all the effort and I urge others to be generous where you can

Regards,
Ian.

Bob, you may want to drop the starts a bit- may get folks rolling. I watched a really nice Juniper sit on ebay with a $200 opening bid, when it got nocked down to a buck to start, it sold well for $227 or so (and worth much more).

Many people are just straped from giving to the hurricane relief. For me I found the perfect house for my family so I have my current house back on the market and just put in a offer on 10 acres. I desided to roll the dice on this one as it is THE place for me, and made the offer without selling my place first. I have a bridge loan so if my offer is accepted then I will have 3 months to sell my house before I am stuck with 2 payments. My morgage payments will nearly double so I may be strapped for a while, collected material only for me for a while! Oh well, at least I'll have plenty of room to plant stuff in the ground (as well as my wifes horse, rabbit, dog, cats, koi, turtles and bearded dragon).

Trying not to get my hopes too high cause you know how buying/selling houses goes... Wish me luck!

Anyway, that is why I am unable to help support this wonderful cause at this point in time. Take care!!

Ralph,
Most definatly!!! As long as I get the place I will post pics. You should see the sugar maple in the back yard!!! It is definatly the oldest, biggest maple I have ever seen, complete with climbing ladder rungs and rope swing! As soon as I saw that tree I said, "Baby I can see our kids (future, imaginary kids right now) playing in that tree."
