Learning is for life

Wow. It's been a bad day. Court just isn't going well. I would just as soon shoot a couple of witnesses as the defendants.

Then I hit BT for a minute and saw this thread. Talk about thankful!!! I am so humbled by being on anyone's list it escapes me what to say. I took the time to read EVERY name, the writers and the people included in the narratives. I have learned from, and value, ALL of them.

I think I should switch gears here. I have had irreconcilable differences of opinion with two people here, FredL and Eddie1979. Still, I have learned from them a very valuable lesson. Regardless of other "differences", we all have an interest in bonsai. It is an art that spans gender, race, age, and all other demographics. It is a wonderful thing. Isn't that how it should be?

John

P.S. I'm wiping my eyes now, and getting back to work !!! Ya'll are the best.

My list continues...

BonsaiAL, you are one of the ones that kept me coming back to this sight when I was just a "lurker" some odd years ago. Thanks.

Rockm, your level headed approach and intelligent posts are something I always enjoy. Thank you.

Will,.....Alas I must thankyou. Though I have not always liked or agreed with everything you have posted, you have contributed quite a lot of things that are valuable, and I can respect that. Thank you.

bonsaikc, I think that if you and I were able to talk on a more personal level we would have a lot of life philosophies, as well as bonsai philosophies, in common. I enjoy being able to relate. Thanks.

that's it for now...maybe more later.....

My online club....

What a lovely thread......
I consider this website my club for now. There was a club in our area 20 years ago but it died out. (Right now the two closest clubs are each over 20 miles from here in opposite directions. ) It's not quite as good as hands on at a real club, but almost. There is talk of starting another club in the Hudson/New Port Richey area in the near future but without this website I would feel like I was in a barren waste land, bonsai wise.

I have learned I should post less and read more but I love this website and all the folks on it. Everyone tries to be helpful.

Gday folks!

At the risk of being called 'wishy-washy', I would like to thank everyone that contributes to to bonsaiTALK, be it in terms of information, dollars or general good humour. This site is greater than the sum of its parts, and as such I believe that it might be counterproductive to name names - if only because I risk causing offence to those who I omit. Of course there is one name I must mention, and it is that of our gracious host, Matt (TreeBay). Thanks Matt!

In closing, allow me to quote Bilbo Baggins:

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Thank you all. Really.

FlyBri.

I'd like to thank Matt first and foremost for the forum.

All the chat room crew as we have a good old laugh and talk about trees too sometimes:

Brian Bay (Mad scientist with karate chop action)
Redpine (Mad duelling banjo type person)
Sunday (Mad at her neighbour with the pink tree)
Grampz (Thought he'd never leave)
Fly Bri (Keep hoping he will leave lol )
Ron Martin (Leaves at the drop of a hat)
Tuckerg (Happy with the 20 degree celcius heatwave in Ireland)
Agraham (Ficus aplenty)
Daytona bonsai (A.W.O.L.)
New4Me (Who looks uncannily like his bulldogs)
Repotter (Oh what the hec) Yes.. crap joke I know lol
Pootsie (Probably the only likeable lawyer)

Ron again for his excellent ABS article. All those people that helped me when I first arrived, and those who have helped indirectly, simply by reading their posts.

Walter Pall for his awesome bonsai from which I and many others draw inspiration.

And last but by no means least Heymikey, for his advice and humour, that so many of us miss. RIP amigo!!

All the best to everyone!

Aaron
