Gary, The guy where I buy my wood from has B. Rosewood. I have used the South American Rosewood and it is nice also. It is called Cocabola. It is very hard, kind of resinous too. Dulls tools like fast. Most of the woods that I use are in the 6.00 to 8.00 dollar a board foot range. B. Rosewood goes for about 25.00 a bd. ft.
I could not make a stand here in the USA, at the imported price of the wood and compete on the open market. A stand about 12x18x3" has about 4 bd. ft. in it. That would be about 100.00 just for the material, then my labor, and some profit, forget it. Bonsai-al
