New pot from Sara Rayner

I ordered this custom made pot from Sara a few months ago. It arrived yesterday, and will be used next month for my Sumo Silverberry. Outside dimensions are 18" x 8".
I wanted a round pot with no feet, because the silverberry has several "fronts". I wanted a strong pot that I could use at any viewing angle I choose.
The link is to Sara's online catalog. 13r is the pot mine is based on.

Added later: image on right is a vrtual of how I hope it will look after repotting.

Ditto. The pot brings better flow to the tree. It is more subdued, almost a diffuse mirror image to the foliage.

Very nice.

That was my first impression,
it somehow echoes the foliage.

It looks really great, Mike. So much better than the old one!

Beautiful pot. The only thing that bothers me, and it may be the photo, but the pot has a sheen to it that detracts from the tree. The tree has somewhat dull undersides to the leaves and the trunk has a fine bark, and I think a matte finish to a pot might be less overwhelming.

Of course photos can be notoriously deceiving.

Great choice, the way the rim leads outward to encompase the shape of the canopy, sweet.

Silverberry repotted

The silverberry has started pushing new growth, so I decided today was the day to repot. First I leaf pruned about 50-60%. Then removed about half the roots and put it in the Sara pot.
It needs to grow new leaves to lookl right, but this will give an idea of where it's headed. I plan to leave it more open than it was before.
