Here Ron implies that Al's critique missed the mark, by appealing to "different schools" of bonsai.

But last week, when I tried to get him to specify even broadest subdivision of schools in which critique would be given, he acted as if this was a stupid question:

Carl: Interesting challenge - I presume that Brook Zhao will be critiquing these as penjing rather than as bonsai?

Ron: I would assume Zhao will do as he aleays does. Critique them for what they are.

So which is it, Ron?

You want to have your cake, or do you want to it. Pick one.

Tell you what Carl, I'll just repeat my answer. And yes Mr. Crow. It is still a stupid question.

You amaze me, Ron.

You claim that to do a good critique you must understand the particular school of thought....and then when I ask which school of thought I should use in doing my critique, you tell me that is a stupid question.

Care to explain?

Is it just me or does Ron remind any of you of a past forum member that used to give ambiguous answers and try to pass them off as fact? Always refusing to defend his rhetoric and simply saying "I do not care to defend my point of view, thank you".

I see a parallel pattern and it is freightning...
