hey charles, i am 16 years old and have been in bonsai for 2 years, yeah its cool to know that there are other people our age that enjoy bonsai but too bad that they are spread so thinly around the globe, i do think there needs to be more of us out there so we can talk to people who enjoy the same hobby that we do.

Big Smile Thank you for this Forum

I just discovered this forum. I thought I should post a reply somewhere to express my appreciation for all this information contained in here.

I am rather new to bonsai. I previously raised a juniper with good success, but have done nothing for a number of years. I really want to attempt growing an oak in broom style. The look I seek is akin to the "tree of life". As a pagan, that has special meaning to me.

I would appreciate anyone's comment regarding the appropriatness of a relative newbie attempting what I want to do. I would also appreciate suggestions as to where to acquire the best oak stock. I have seen very few querus robur stock on the Web.

I will continue to read the multitude of threads in hopes of adding to my knowledge and understanding, and in an effort to avoid asking already answered questions.

Greetings and Thanks,
Brian

Hope this works... maybe you can discern me now in my avatar pic... i really like this tree, its on my university's campus... i guess one day it was damaged, rotted away, then they filled in the hollow with a very nicely built brick wall...

I read once a John Naka quote, "even monkey's fall out of trees"... this picture proves that sometimes you can catch yourself!

You have squirrels that eat koi??
Dang! I didn't know that. We have squirrels. We have koi in our garden pond.
I have seen wet tracks on the frame of the pond. Are you telling me that the squirrels are not getting a sip from the pond, but they are "fishing"?
Oh no!!!!!!!!!!
