Yeah, same here! Always a good thing to find some of your own age that, moreover, share the same "crazy" hobby. 'cause that's the common reaction, from most people of my age, when I tell them about Bonsai! I think it's the same as in the USA?

So you want to know what I look like?

My names Tom Brown. I live in Shady Side Maryland and own a small bonsai supply store. The first picture is how you'll normally see me. The second is the other end.

Hi, my name is Ryan age 29, I am 5'11" I have red hair and wear only black. I have been here about two months so guess that means I am staying.. I am paranoid so I wont tell you where I am from or my last name.. I am into music (Metal and Goth), all things death related, and roleplaying games other than the obvious.. I have a wife who in short brings good into my life and is the center of all things in my heart.

I have Obsessive compulsive disorder but my wife thinks in a good way mostly problably because I clean everything and anything. I am happy with my OCD and I dont want to get better.

Pic of me and perfection incarnate... Yup thats piercings you see on my face.

New to the Forum

I thought I would introduce myself to ya'll. I've enjoyed reading and searching the information available in the forum so far. Great site!

My name is Joel and I live just NW of Indianapolis, IN (US). My wife and I have three bonsai trees (see my sig line). We've bought all our trees from Bonsai East in Pigeon Forge, TN. Sadly, the proprietor has now passed on.

Our Snow Rose was one of the first two trees we purchased. The other tree, a Juniper, died due to improper overwintering on our part (the odd Indiana spring freeze/thaw cycles didn't help). One aspect we cherish about our Snow Rose is that we bought it on our honeymoon and we hope to have it throughout our marriage. Our two Junipers were bought on a revisit to Pigeon Forge on our two-year anniversary. They are currently outside in overwinter mode... they made it through last winter just fine.

We battled spider mites this past summer and seem to have won... we'll see if they are back in the spring. In addition, we seem to be battling either a fungus or overwatering problem with our Snow Rose (I'll be posting some questions about that shortly).

Regards,
Joel

Chris,

Slight mix up on the system by me when re-naming the thread....now re-stuck!

No reason for the name change other than to make it more obvious as to what it is for our new members.

The membership does not always see how many posts we have to move here from other areas, so it is purely to save Moderators time.

Simple as that

Edit: As I see it, we have two distinct threads going....one where just text details are given, and the other where members actually post up photo's of themselves, so you take your pick on joining if you want to tell people about yourself.

Regards,
Ian.
