I was wondering if I'd see any promos for this. It really is a good show. The ncarboretum is going to open their bonsai pavilion and display their collection, one of the best in the US its been said. Theres a plethora of info on the NC Aboretum Homepage . Dan Robinson is the "headliner" (focal point bonsai, picasso....) Too bad about the availability of instruction (5 person limit ...as if I'm advanced enough to take the class anyway.) Should be some other good demos as well as him working a yellow cedar if I recall.

And to answer your question Ron, I'm going to be there. Can't decide if I'm going Saturday or Sunday but I'm leaning more towards Sunday (auction.) My dad's coming in from Mandeville Louisiana (via Baton Rouge) friday night. He'll be heading back either Sunday night or Monday (repairing telephones, living in a hotel) for another three weeks. I'm trying to plan around seeing him.

WF

We're coming from TriCities area (Northeast TN) - about 15 or so thru the weekend (and most on Friday. Knoxville and Nashville are coming, too!

I hope the tree vendors bring some nice deciduous stuff....Stewartia m., Chinese quince, winterhazel.... (hint, hint, hint )

Been there every year since the show started. I would bet that you can find a lot of what you need in the vendors area. As far as I know there is only one vendor that is a bit pricey. The rest are reasonable. But I must admit they all usually have some good stuff.
FWIW I do buy a [LOT] of stuff there. If you see it and you like it I would grab it. If not it could wind up in my trailer ;o)
There is usually a coffee area set up at the Arboretum
Anyone want to meet there about 10 am on Saturday.

Glad to see Osiga's going to be there. They have a supply of very, very nice Chinese pots. I've bought several from them. They are equal to the Japanese tokoname pots I have.

You're right about that, Mark. I first saw Yenchin's stuff at Bill Valavanis' a few years ago, and got him interested in coming to the NC Arboretum. He was here last year as well.

John or Ron,
Do you know if there are any vendors this year that weren't there last year?
