I was wondering, has anyone noticed how great the pictures are in the latest spring show thread. Everyone has went out of their way to make beautiful pictures of their trees. The backdrops have been great, the accent plants have been added and the whole presentation looks just like going up and down the rows at a real show.

The funny thing is I noticed the BonsaiTalk Museum thread come up lately. While reading the rules of the thread I was amazed at this paragraph;

LET'S MAKE THIS GREAT! Post only your best pictures of the trees you're proudest of. They needn't be your own trees so long as you have permission to post the photo. Remember, as Bill Valavanis used to say, "we don't want bad photos of good bonsai or good photos of bad bonsai."

I wonder what would happen if the museum had started this month. Sorry to be such a stick in the mud, but I like trees shown with backdrops and stands and accents. Thanks for making the show thread something that at least I am proud of.

You know, Al, I agree completely.

The spring show thread is really great, and all the better because I've several members' trees (mine included) leap up a notch or two in terms of presentation. That is to say,the spring show thread is pushing us to become better artists, and it is doing so in a sometimes neglected domain - display.

I agree with you about the museum. I'd personally like to see the museum cleaned out so we all could start over.

How about it, everyone? Clean out the museum?

Thumbs up

I agree that the Spring Show is great, and as other people get into their own spring, it should get even better. I don't have the opportunity to show my trees easily and this is like a practice-run for when I do. Thanks to everyone involved in the idea and its execution. Maybe we could have an Autum/Winter show too?

I'm not sure what the museum is, so I'll go and find out!

Regards,

Fish.
