Can't sleep!

Closing today at 9am and I have been up since 6. Thought I would give an update as I will have very little time for quite a while. I have today off and will be painting all day after close.

We sold the old place!!!! Whoo hooo!!! I have at least 2 weeks to get the work done on the new place and get moved (don't have the close date set for my old place but it is between the 14th and the 28th) so that is great.

I am just a little overwhelmed as to the amount of work coming up. We need to paint the whole house (as well as the cupboards which are painted a lovely purple and yellow), cut and assemble the trim and baseboard, fix the bath sink and fan, build 3 stalls in the barn and set up pasture (not to mention actually moving). But hey I could not have afforded this place if all the work was done!!!

Just wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, and thank the lord for helping everything to fall into place!!!!!!

Take care!

Newt

Hi Newt,

Many congratulations on the news. Yes, a little tiring and stressful, but enjoyable in the long run

Hey, did not see watering the trees on that list of things to do !

Good luck and keep us posted.

Regards,
Ian.

Thanks Ian!

That is just a list of new things to do. If I added the normal things the list would be too long

If your weather is like mine this month (which I'm sure it is) at least you won't have to worry about spending a lot of time watering the bonsai!

good luck!

Pootsie,
Weather has been pretty good lately up here. Not nearly normal watering but still doing some, especially the tropicals.

Thumbs up

Congratulations on your new home, Newt, and good luck on selling the old.

It looks like a very beautifull place to live in and grow bonsai. There aren't that many places like that here in Portugal where one could make a living. Basically this is because everyone wants to live in the coast and the interior is getting underpopulated by the day...

Anyway our ways are way diferent from yours.
One thing that I can't get on my head is why you build like you do. Ever heard the 3 little piggies story?

Duartix, are you wondering why we don't build everything out of bricks and stone? In the central U.S., timber has traditionally been so plentiful and cheap that it didn't make sense to transport stone. In modern times, well, we are creatures of habit, aren't we?

settled in

Well I am moved and starting to get settled in. Just got the internet up and running yesterday, horray! Wow, it sayes it has been two weeks since I last checked in, seems longer than that.

Here are some before and after pictures. Please excuse the clutter as we are still settling in.

Darn, owning horses is a lot of work!

Take it easy! (I only wish I could take my own advise).
