My lucky day

Hi

Yesterday was my lucky day. I bought this Taxus Baccatta for just 10 euro (abt 6$).
It's 68 cm high and has a trunkbase of 7 cm in diameter.
On the right is a very big root standing out (photo1) and on the left trunk is a nice natural shari. (photo4)
I've put it in the garden to let the folliage grow out. Then I'll be better able to see its oppurtunities. Just to let jou all enjoy aswell.

cheers Wessel

Off Topic but I used to do business with a man based in Apeldoorn. His name is Ensing and he had a motorcycle dealership there. Small world.

Oh.....and the tree looks interesting too!

Wessel,

Tell us what you like about this tree. What are it's strengths, and how are you planning to bring them out?

To me, it seems that you got what you paid for.

Best regards,
Carl

Carl,

What about something like this?
I jinned the left branch, shortened the right and have to wait for the folliage to grow. I know this isn't a project for a few years, this'll take a decade.

Wessel,

I guess you could go in that direction, but that's a long time to spend working on a tree that is never going to have a natural taper....

Best regards,
Carl

You'll never know what it will look like untill you go for it. So, my man, go for it. Its yours and you will like it(me too).

By the way, my son loved the dutch when he was there
Peace
Bob
