My Article in ABS

By now , those that get the ABS Journal, have seen my article on forest plantings in the current issue. I feel pretty good about that article. At least there have been no letters to either the editor (that I know of anyway) or myself complaining about it.
So far no one has said that Part 1 is full of poop ;o)
Part 2 is supposed to be in the next issue. Hopefully that one is received as well as the 1st one.
For those of you with a penchant for writing it might just be worth your time to submit an article to the Journal. The pay sucks but it is a thrill to pick up a magazine and see your name in it.
If anyone is interested in doing so then let me know and I will put you onto the proper people.
If anyone wants to lambaste my article this is the place to do it. But please remember the topic of this post is "My Article in ABS" Hopefully the comments will be limited to that.
I do learn a lot by listening to legitimate gripes. I have a tendance to ignore the rest ;o)
Thanks

Guess this is too scary a subject for comment. A pity I could have learned a lot.

Ron,
Given that I had a preview when we were DC, and we all spent days and days debating the Colin Lewis (4-tree forest) tree, we're just speechless. Actually, the eye-leading discussion was fascinating - and the rest of the article had some merit, too!

Now, I need to remember what that was!!!

Ron,
Seems to me you were quite vocal about it in DC (It is better than you said!) and I even got a "Ron Martin Sponsored Adult Beverage" from the bar in the hotel. Thanks again, John (I was sitting next to you- bet you don't remember- you were so engaged in conversation with Ken (Ohio))

Ron,

Just out of curiosity, did you use Colin Lewis's picture of the Saikei in your forest article?

Ron,

I read it several times. I liked it. It was informative and written with clarity. You have a comfortable, laid back style of writing, and it helps to maintain focus on the subject. Some writers have a tendency to get grandiloquent and by being so fancy, they lose the purpose of the article. Yours stayed on track. The inclusion of various artist's work (Colin's saikei obviously) were spot on. Carl's painting was a good subject to include to explain the focal point aspects of artistic expression. I'm looking forward to Part II.

John

And the interest of the reader if I may say so. I enjoy reading Rons muses and articles because they are presented in a "comfortable, laid back style". Ron I read a preview of this article via the offer in your newsletter and would like to see the finished article in the ABS Journal. Problem is the ABS website doesn't give me the opportunity to buy that issue yet. Do I need to just wait, or is there another outlet available to purchase single copies?
