Multi-trunk From Seed
I have recently planted 36 chinese elm seeds. I only had 30 spaces for individual seeds in my seed tray and I decided to experiment by planting 2 seeds each in 2 spots and 3 seeds each in 2 spots. I am curious if anyone has done this before and can tell me if this is a normal process for twin or multiple trunk styles?

Funny you should ask. I was flipping through one of my Japanese bonsai books, and they show the technique as you described for a mult-trunk or clump style elm. They also have examples of bunching seedlings/cuttings together to get the same results. I can't read Japanese so I don't know what it says, but the drawings are very helpful.
So... it should work. If not, bunch up some of the seedlings during the transplant and grow them together. Good luck.
