Mudmen - Any Any?

Please, can anybody tell me where I might find some authentic Chinese Mudmen in Europe?

None available here in Amsterdam.

Much indebted,
Nigel

Try antique shops or markets, that seems to be where a good many people here in the sates get theirs. There's always Ebay,...maybe some one will start selling them on the auction site here,...they may already I haven't checked. :-) Good luck.

You might do a search on "Shiwan figures" and see what comes up. I found this link to a UK shop that has some of these. Shiwan figures are high end, usually larger, "mudmen" that look alot better than some of the junk out there.

Ebay can be a good source for this kind of thing too.

G'day Nigel...

Never been to Europe, however, I have seen them for sale at Chinese restaurants here in the Arizona desert...also, in SFO(akland)** Bay area (Northern California), Los Angeles area, and the Chicago area.

I would think they might be available the same way in Amsterdam.

Good luck with your search. You might even enjoy a good Chinese meal...or 3 or 7...during the hunt.

Gday Pat,

No, No, not in this touristical city, Chinese restaurants are poor quality indeed, best place is in Leiden, a goodly half hour or so by fast train, anyhow I know most of the ins'n'outs of Chinese cooking, all stuff available.

But as to the Mudmen, gonna try a few of the antique shops, maybe I'll get lucky, so far have two boats, one house and one sage, and as my thinking direction goes further into the Penjing way of styling, I think that maybe I shall need mucho more variation.

Here too, Spring is beginning to do its glorious thing, and all my Chaenomeles and Jasminums are covered with buds....

Best wishes,
Nigel

"...No, No, not in this touristical city, Chinese restaurants are poor quality indeed..."

I know the feeling...

It took us six years after moving to Southern Arizona to find a Chinese Resturaunt worthy of going to (as in almost comparable to some in Northern California).
