I really hate to see posts like this. It always seems to eat at my sole a bit.
Guess it was bound to happen at Morikami though. The security there is not all that great. The place was built for beauty and not to keep the thieves out. It does seem like someone always comes along and spoils the beauty. And the world seems a little sadder every time it happens.
I do think that tea is one that was donated by Jim Moody. Not sure. Guess it really doesn't make a difference anymore. It's gone.

Theft is always a shame. It would probably not be a bonsai person who would have made off with the rock planting, though. It's an immature planting and probably more work to move than to create, if you know what you are doing.

I suspect it was one or two folks with more muscles than brains, or morals for that matter!

Regards,

Matt

The juniper planting is a little impressive because it is only one tree woven through the rocks.

That picture of the juniper is , naturally , quite deceiving. It is actually a real nice piece when seen in the flesh. Nothing amateurish about it at all.
If I was a bonsai thief I would be interested in it.

Well, Ron,

Now that we have established that you have motive and means, if it please the court, do tell us where you were last night?

Please note, that Taking a Nap Will not be accepted as an alibi!

Regards,

Matt

And how would you, Charles (if that is your real name) know the weight of the missing bonsai?

Inspector Matt

<edit> OK. I see it is written on the flyer. I guess we'll let you go on your own recognizance, but don't leave town!

I also know that it is 40 inches tall, 24 inches wide, and the pot is 2 inches tall and 20 inches wide.

The specs are next to the tree to help identify the trees.
