That's what I figure as an economist whose major was statistics. But this can be wrong again. It is pretty close to reality though.

fun

Fred: what was the subject of this thread

If 100 masters are asked to chose 15 best trees from 100, but choose 30 different trees, (the operative word being "different"), then they will have failed to meet the requirement of choosing and agreeing unanimously on 15, and only 15.

Hey guys,

We've just received the above message from another planet 2 light-years away. It's still within our galaxy though.

100 masters and none could agree
Which 15 of all were the best bonsai trees...

Highly exalted by any measure,
They might all indeed be "National Treasures"!

They hemmed, they hawed and even alluded;
They argued, debated and finally concluded:

"Minimal, maximal, beautiful or not;
At the end of the day, they're all plants in a pot."

That which we call a Rose!

Thank you MGC... In eight well written lines you have summed up what many simply cannot understand and what others (who think they understand) write pages and pages trying to say. With your permission I will take your bit of verse and post it in my bonsai studio where all the students and customers can read it.

Well done!

How do we nominate this to be a Bonsai Quote?

It is just too good!

Thanks for the laugh,

Matt
