Thomas, your work is always so masterful.....Sometimes I don't post, but I have respected your work for a long time. This tree is magnificent. Juniper is my favorite bonsai. This tree is absolutely beautiful and I, as well as anyone, I believe, would be happy to have this as past of their collection. In no way, did the stress period/loss of foliage inhibit the beautiful end result. If fact, it may have brought out the definitive best look for this tree......

Well I must say that I'm kind of stunned at all the kudos. I'm really glad that everyone likes this one. Sometimes when you post a tree that has been styled or restyled in this case, you never know how it's gonna go. There's still a lot of work to be done on this one because there are small pockets that aren't visible on this last photo, that need to be filled in. I wish I could have learned my lesson a bit earlier on pinching too hard because this isn't the only tree I did this to. I'm just glad in this case it turned out for the better.
 Harry, Yes there is moss in Texas, but only by luck I'm afraid. I wish I had more. Now the trick is to keep the birds from pulling it all up. I came home Sunday evening and found just about all of my trees that had moss, were pecked pretty hard with moss laying all over my benches.  I'm now covering those trees up with towels during the day after pushing most of the moss back in place. Quote:
I'm not sure why they sometimes want to revert. I have some that do this and some that have no desire to revert back. I have noticed that the ones which I pick at daily on their front side will keep the adult foliage, while their back side (I don't always turn my trees as often as I should. In fact I forget more often than not.) will have the juvi foliage.
