Marco in Dallas
Last night my club sponsored a workshop with Marco Invernizzi that I attended. Pishan, my spouse snapped a few pictures I would like to share with you. These 3 pics are Marco giving me instruction on a San Jose Juniper.

The workshop was a short one only about 2.5 hours, still much appreciated advice and training from a respected professional artist.

Final one of Marco and I hamming it for the camera. And before and after pics of the juniper I worked on. I did not get to finish this work at the workshop, and spent most of last night at home wiring the dead wood and branches. It is very important to get the dead wood wired in place before it drys and sets.
The tree still has a lot of work to be done. but this heavy pruning and carving is enough for one season. After it has recovered and shows vigor again, I will do some more branch selection, and pad development. I am not sure I like the long jin, this was Marco's suggestion, but I can always trim in down later.

One other note, I know I stated interest in the styling contest, but the contest was announced just after I purchased this material for the workshop, and I felt I needed the instruction more than the contest. I do hope to participate in others in the future.

Ralph,
Thanks so much for posting all the photos of Marco's workshop. When I first heard about it a few months back I had really wanted to go, but ca$h crunch has prevented me. Damn that money stuff! I could really use some first-hand instruction. It sounds as though you got some great instruction and had a great time styling your newest tree. I can't wait to see its progression. Thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through you. Jennifer
