Maple Chop?

This maple is on its way to me from AZ. I dont really care for the top and was wondering what everyone that about some nip tuck.

i would take that main main trunk as well leave the 1st branch as the new leader.

Deshojo?

i love the colour of these things..

yeah id cut it by half.........since you are in growing season now...

hopefully it will develop more shoots a little bit lower...

good potential this tree,...

but Deshojos and shindeshojos are very slow growing......so you need alot of time and patience...

Since yours is grafted, I would air layer just above the graft to give a better trunk. Then let it grow for a couple of years in the ground or grow box to thicken up before doing a trunk chop.
