Litoria's all round.

Villia, are you in australia? if so where?

i had dozens of litoria, (tree frogs) but they got too noisy for my housemates and i had to agree to move them : (

they are so good for cleaning up unwanted pests.

if you have them on your shelves etc, they will be in other places too, stacks of pots etc, not neccesarily wet spots.

hortroit.... yeah I'm in oz.. in Melbourne..... I know what I would've said to my housemates.... fancy having to get rid of a few frogs because they are too noisy....

I have a neighbour that actually cut down a huge tree to get rid of some birds that were coming there every night.... they made a noise... sure.... but it was great...what would he rather hear instead...traffic??... anyway they just moved next door to my tree.. he gets the same noise but now he has lost his tree....

For the past two years I've had a toad living amongst my trees on the patio. I'm sure she will make a reappearance this springtime. They do make excellent defenders from unwanted pests, as do ladybirds (ladybugs) on aphids and spiders on just about everything else - although spiders can be a pain then they start wiring soft branches/twigs into different positions lol.

All the best,

Aaron

Aaron, you need to find a gentleman friend for your lady toad. Although I don't have any toads among my bonsai, I'm sure I'll have a surplus of them in the Japanese garden that I work at. It's a hill-and-pond style, and every year at about this time I get inundated with seething masses of singing, mating toads. Just in time for the cherry blossom festival (this is in Washington DC so I'm afraid I can't send you any). The cherry blossom queen and her court traditionally come and visit the garden during the festival, and some of them actually get a bit embarrassed by the sight of all that toad lust.

Hi Fran,

There must be a male lurking around somewhere, as last season I discovered a load of eggs buried in a plastic plant pot containing a maple seedling. My guess is that he does what is required of him, grabs a Budweiser.. then chills infront of the tube to watch the game.

All the best,

Aaron
